satOlite (Playdate)
A downloadable game
Planet-Defense
satOlite is a Tower-Defense Game without a grid or slots for your towers. Instead, you place satellites in orbit around planets. Use the crank of the Playdate to determine where to launch your new satellite. Once the satellite is placed, it orbits the planet by itself.
Different Satellites
Do you want to buy a rapid-laser to deal with the approaching enemies, or do you want to save the money and get the mighty torpedo-launcher later in the mission? The satOlite programm offers a variety of defense satellites.
Meet your new team
Learn how to play the game and get your mission briefing from Mayor Forbett and your computer assistant Plan.NET
Enemy ships approaching
Big ships, fast ships, ships with shields. Different ships need different approaches.
Can you save the galaxy? Or, at least, the reputation of your department?

Thanks for the update, no more stuttering and I can finally enjoy the game to the fullest. It was worth the wait! π
Solid game, I quite liked it. an endless mode with a score system and this game would be perfect
Thank you! You are not the first one who would prefere an endless mode. But I wanted satOlite to be a story game, not an High Score game. I hope you still had fun π
Any demo?
There is no demo, sorry.
satOlite has just managed to steal away an evening of my time and I couldnβt be happier. With lots of fun planetary systems to try to defend and a fun narrative to carry you through. Itβs one of the longest single play sessions Iβve had on the Playdate. bravo! This is a fantastic game.
Thank you so much for your nice comment β€οΈ This makes me really happy! π
Well your game only went and made me really happy so it seems fair :D Have a great day!
I loved this. π It is easily my favorite game on playdate so far. Fun experience, entertaining dialogue. Only weirdness was occasional stuttering when deploying new satellites.
Thank you so much! β€οΈ I'm glad you like it π
Is there an infinite mode? Also how many levels are there?
Hi! There is no infinite mode. The story contains 25 Levels π
Ok thanks for answering. How long does it take to beat the game tho?
I would say about an hour
Just finished the final mission, and it was everything I hoped after seeing the trailer in the direct! NG+ is a very cool challenge as well, as I get big for my britches thinking using high level towers on early stages will be cake, and it's totally not haha.
I did have one crash in the first mission where you don't get any money for destroying ships, early teens I think? But it only happened once and I was able to make it through the rest of the game without it happening again.
Also, I have to assume there are technical limitations in the way, but I would die for a free play mode.
Seriously, I love this game. Definitely gonna remember it for next year's awards!
Wow! Thank you so much for the nice feedback π
There are definitely technical limitations that make it difficult to add a free mode. But I have some ideas that might work. But no promises π Currently I'm just happy the game is out the door haha π
Totally get it! Great game either way
Hello !
Congratulations on the game, I expected a lot from it. There's stuttering here and there, I hope you'll be able to fix this over time, but overall it's a lot of fun ! I'm at lvl 9 right now, my only fear is that the game is too short π
Thank you for your feedback! I'm glad you are having fun :)
I want to talk level packs and DLCs now π
By the way if you're looking for a French version, I'd love to make it happen !
I like the game in general very much, but unfortunately the constant stuttering in the game bothers me, which spoils the fun a little...
Is it just me or does it bother the others too? ;)
At first I thought it was because of the music, but even when I deactivated it the stuttering remained.
I'm sorry you had a bad experience with the game π There are situations in which the framerate might drop, but it shouldn't be a constant stuttering. I'm really sorry about that!
As a compensation, I would like to give you my other Playdate Game 'Dash Arena' for free (which should run without stuttering π)

Just played it. Has to be one of the best games on my Playdate. Amazing job! β€οΈ
Thank you so much! I'm so happy you liked it π
is this coming to catalog any time soon?
It's submitted, but not accepted yet.
I love the game and am so excited to finally play it! It would be cool to have a mission ranking system if you plan on adding any updates. I have been going back to "perfect" missions (idk thats how I like to play games.) It would be cool to see a rank (S, A, B, etc.) of how well we did or a star for doing a mission flawlessly. Just a thought, thank you for blessing us with this awesome game!
Thank you for playing, and thanks for your feedback! I'll think about it :)
Lovely little tower defense game that constantly throws new ideas at you! The small story elevates the game to feel more alive as well as giving thoughtful tips! Great work π
Thank you so much! I'm really happy you liked it :)
I love what youβre doing here! I look forward to playing it!
Thank you! :)
Another banger right after Dash-Arena? Hell yeah! :D
π Yeah!
I saw this and my jaw dropped. It looks like a really awesome spin one of my favorite styles! I'm very much looking forward to playing this game on my lil yellow square. Good luck finishing it up!
Thank you so much! :)
This is such a neat idea!
Thank you :) I hope you'll like the finished game when it's out!
